Pictured above, is a solid copper head flint knapping billet.  If you purchase this type of billet, it  should
last you a lifetime. The head is 1" diameter and 2" in length. The over all length is approximately 6"
and the handle is Hard Rock Maple; with and oil penetrating finish for complete moisture protection.
The 1" is an excellent size for small to mid-size preforming and finishing work, though they are not
designed for spalling (we strongly suggest a larger diameter for that). This design gives you great
head forward weight that creates high billet swing speed without having to over swing.  This leads to
greater accuracy in hitting small platforms. Do not confuse this with the lead filled copper-headed
batons or bonkers that are sold at a lower price. They are nothing more than a thin copper cap filled
with lead that dents and deforms easily and wears through after little usage. We are sure you are
aware, in order for a billet to work well, and most efficiently, it must not be dented and fairly smooth to
catch and hold on to the platforms to impart the maximum amount of energy to the platform, thus,
creating crisp flake removal.  We all know that flint knapping can be difficult enough with out any
added problems. Buy the best at a really fair price.
